What are the benefits of face recognition technology
|
Facial recognition is a way of identifying or confirming an individual's identity using their face.
Timesite has employed this technology as an alternative to logging in to a Kiosk using a PIN.
Is this a secure alternative to using a PIN?
Face ID uses the TrueDepth camera and machine learning for a secure authentication solution. Face ID data — including mathematical representations of your face — is encrypted and protected with a key available only to the Secure Enclave.
Why is facial recognition safe?
Human face recognition systems use unique mathematical patterns to store biometric data. Hence, they are among the safest and most effective identification methods in biometric technology.
Is there any risk with Face ID?
The probability that a random person in the population could look at your iPhone or iPad Pro or Android and unlock it using Face ID is less than 1 in 1,000,000 with a single enrolled appearance whether or not you're wearing a mask. This compares to a 1 in 10,000 chance of someone cracking a four digit PIN.
Whilst this risk is very low there are still small risks. Data breaches involving facial recognition data increase the potential for identity theft, stalking, and harassment because, unlike passwords and credit card information, faces cannot easily be changed.
How do I turn on Face Recognition in Timesite Pro?
To activate face recognition :
- You need to be the timesheet manager for at least one person.
- You need to enable kiosk in system setting.
SETTINGS / SYSTEM SETTINGS / FEATURES
Tick the box “Enable Kiosk”.
Then open your mobile device and go to :
SETTINGS and switch on SHOW KIOSK and also switch on ENABLE FACE REOGNITION.
