TimeSite has released our new mobile app specifically designed for iOS and Android tablets. This complements our original TimeSite Pro smartphone app but is specifically designed to take full advantage of the increased screen size on a tablet device.
Adding and Editing Timesheet Records
Our tablet app supports both portrait and landscape orientation. Select the Records icon in the bottom menu to show the timesheet and timesheet records. The Records > Review/Edit tab lists timesheet records by date for the full week. This tab provides a calendar strip to enable you to select a date and to move from week to week. Similar to the Timesheet tab in a browser window, you can display timesheet records for the day, week or month, and you can move from month to month via a drop-down menu.
Touch the record's More icon (3 horizontal dots) to show additional timesheet record details such as start/end times and comments. Records that are unavailable for editing because they have been used for invoicing or submitted for approval are shown with a "lock" icon. Touch the record Close icon (3 vertical dots) to close the record details panel.
Touch the blue "plus" icon in the bottom right corner to open up the Add Record menu. You can add a new time-related task (Enter Time), a new non-time-related task (Expenses), or open the stopwatch menu (Use Timer).
The New Entry panel opens on the right side of the tablet screen enabling you to enter Client, Project, Task and Comments. Depending on your configuration, other fields may also be displayed including Breaks and Custom Fields. Touch the Save button to save this new timesheet record and close the panel.
To edit an existing timesheet record, touch the "more" icon (3 horizontal buttons) and then touch the Edit icon (pencil). The Edit Entry panel (similar to the New Entry panel) will open on the right side of the screen. Touch the Save button when you have completed editing the timesheet record. You can exit this panel without saving the record by touching the screen outside of this panel. You will be asked to Confirm view exit.
Touch the Submit tab in the Records screen to display a timesheet or list of timesheets that can be submitted for management approval. You can open a timesheet (row) to display the detailed timesheet records including in this timesheet. Select each timesheet to be submitted by touching the tick box to the left of the timesheet record and then touch the Submit button. The submitted timesheets will disappear from this tab.
If previously submitted timesheets have been returned for correction and resubmission, they will be listed in this screen and individual timesheet records will be unlocked for editing purposes either in this Submit screen or in the Review/Edit screen.
Touch the Approved tab in the Records screen to display a list of submitted timesheets (green dot) and approved timesheets (blue dot). As with the Submit screen, you can open up a timesheet row to show the detailed timesheet records, but they will be shown with a lock icon indicating that the record cannot be edited.
Timesheets submitted to your staff can be reviewed and approved using our TimeSite Pro tablet mobile app. Note that this capability is not available on our smartphone mobile app due to the constraints of screen size.
Select Approve from the bottom navigation menu to display the list of all timesheets available in your TimeSite Pro account. There are certain limits to the number of records returned from the server and displayed on this screen depending on the filter condition.
You can filter the list of displayed timesheets via the Filter drop-down menu in the top left of the screen. You can filter by date (e.g. last 1 month) or by status (e.g. Actionable timesheets).
Touch the timesheet row to open the Approval Action screen. This next screen provides tabs that enable you to review the Timesheet Details, Approval History, and Login & Activity History. You can use the More icon to review additional details for each timesheet record. Note that the records remain locked in this view and cannot be changed until and unless the timesheet is returned to the user via the Resubmit option.
You can approve or ask for the timesheet to be resubmitted via the New Status drop-down menu in the top left of the screen. You can also request that an email is sent back to the user together with brief comments. Select the New Status drop-down to select a status (typically Approved) and touch the Apply Changes button.
The Approval History tab enables you to track the timesheet submission and approval history of this timesheet.
The Settings menu selected from the bottom menu line enables you to set the Time entry format, specify the Attachment size, and specify whether you wish to Select a Client before selecting a Project. This screen also enables you to log out of the mobile app.
